In The Kingdom Of Weaselville.........

Once upon a time there was a beautiful young Queen, called WeaselMomma. WeaselMomma's was a modest kingdom, filled with Weasels loyal subjects who made enormous messes loved the queen very much, and a handsome, loving King.

All of the loyal subjects in the Kingdom of Weaselville had individual chores that they would half-ass perform for the Queen while grumbling under their breath with a song in their heart. The King, knowing how much a clean Kingdom meant to the Queen, contracted a mercenary cleaning lady to come help with the upkeep of the Castle twice a month.

WeaselMomma was a queen of very simple pleasures and few luxuries. Having a mercenary brought her much joy. The entire castle would sparkle and shine simultaneously. This was a feat WeaselMomma could never get accomplished on her own. As she would make one room twinkle another would come under attack by Weasels gremlin forces.

On the days that the mercenaries would come, WeaselMomma felt happy contentment. The skies would open and rays of sunshine would enter the castle directly from the heavens. When WeaselMomma was happy, the entire Kingdom was happy.

Soon a time came when the economy of the Kingdom suffered because the King was laid off no longer could exchange services for money from larger Kingdoms. In order to preserve the the castle and protect the Kingdom from bills piling up attacking enemy factions, WeaselMomma discontinued the mercenaries services and other joyous luxuries. She would have to perform these duties herself and follow behind the Weasels to complete the chores they have half-assed.

During the long, cold winter, The King and Queen managed to preserve and protect the Kingdom and live simply and happily. Grey clouds hovered over the Kingdom and the sun rarely shone, but they would persevere.

Soon it was time for the annual celebration of Valentine's Day the "We love Queen WeaselMomma Festival". Having such little means for extravagant festivities, and knowing how much a sparkly castle means to her, The King and the loyal subjects honored WeaselMomma with a gift of "We ourselves will spend the day cleaning the castle as well as the mercenaries have in the past, while you take a long hot bath with a good book".

Once again, Warmth and Sunshine entered the castle. It didn't shine down from the heavens, but streamed from the hearts of the King and the loyal subjects. This brought the Queen much joy. Queen WeaselMomma was happy and so the entire Kingdom was happy.

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

I LOVE IT!!! I LOVE IT!!! As my little monkeys grumble under their breath today (more important to the king of this castle to be all sparkly--it's this queen's goal just to keep her head above water) they chorus "why do we always have to clean on saturday's??". Hubby's dad is here, so it's also much more pressure for hubby to show off his castle, despite the queen's poor upkeep in recent weeks (after an ice storm, four day power outage, basement flooding in the thaw, & partially-invalid-(truly only slightly disabled)-long-term visitor-father-in-law-arriving. Ahhh...sorry my happy reply to your post turned into a rant! Still, I love your creativityt!!

Make sure they clean up all of the poisoned apples or your nap may be longer than you'd like.

Is it a castle, or a shoe? ;)

Wow! WeaselDaddy must share his secret on how he motivates four little Weasels to actually clean, fully and completely.

Congrats to you, and happy Valentine's day!

@ Vodka Mom ~ It's good to be the Queen.

@ Laura ~ Oh! Sounds like you've had a rough time of it. I hope it gets easier soon.

@ NukeDad ~ I'm totally staying away from any apples offered (especially from eldest). Thank God I'm not a stepmother (this may keep me safe). Definitely a castle. Just in the shape of a boot.

Now that is a Valentine's Day gift of stellar proportions! Enjoy the day off.

@ Tom ~ I think it was fear of bodily harm and being grounded from attending parties.

@ Tara ~ This is a gift with thought and effort involved. I couldn't ask for more.

Awesome - these are the gifts that mean the most.

FYI - cleanliness of castle tends to coincide with the morphing of little weasels into adult weasels who go off on their own.

That is so what my mother asks for at every single gift giving holiday (rarely gets it), though she now asks me for books since I don't live there and often do clean when I am visiting.

Nonna was right - I am jealous! Enjoy your reign while the cleanliness maintains! Maybe your king could counsel neighboring monarchies?

This is one awesome bedtime story that my boys need to hear! The best I was able to get was one room cleaned!

I think someone needs to be crowned in our kingdom!! Or perhaps I need some magic pixie dust?

Sounds like you had a great VD!

I love the way you tell your stories. It is so imaginative, but it is no imagination that if momma ain't happy nobody's happy. Good for all the weasels for helping out mom.

hear yee hear yee! The Quee-sel has spoke. She wishes to announce that the other side of the royal a$$'s has beenn found. And the Royal Castle is not Full A$$ed clean thanks to her loyal subjects!

This provides satisfaction thwarting her never ending battle for clean, and the Weasel-ican Way!
