Weekend Roundup III

Some some little tidbits to give you taste of life in Weaselville and make you grateful that you don't live here.

  • Glorified Rat ~ Eldest Weasel has a pet guinea pig. She had him out on Friday night and we were all petting him as she held him. I leaned over to pet this sweet and cuddly little fellow myself. In one split second move that flippin' rat chomped my mother's ring and ate Middle Weasels birthstone.
  • Saturday was a quiet and lazy day filled with nothing. Or so I thought. Oh, I forgot I have to pick Eldest up from her meet. And remembered Boy Weasel had a birthday party to attend ~that I still hadn't had a gift for~ until the last minute. Shoot, I guess I have to figure out dinner before Eldest leaves to go babysit.
  • My entire family, sans me, has been struck blind. Not completely blind. Just legally blind and color blind, I think. I know this because when performing simple chores, like doing the dishes, sweeping the floor, or gathering loads of specific colored laundry for me to wash, they all missed the dishes sitting on the table, the crumbs under the table, half of the red clothing in their dirty laundry. They couldn't see the mess that remained on their bedroom floors after they had deemed them clean and had passed inspection by Mr. Weasel. I need to make appointments with the eye doctor.
  • This is the last week of school for Smallest Weasel. Eldest only has 2 weeks remaining. The middle three Weasels have 3 weeks left. We are heading down the home stretch and I am getting burnt out. I can't wait until school is out and am counting the days.

Well that's what life around here was this weekend.

the last week? THE LAST WEEK?

I am moving to YOUR town! Is it in Oregon??? :-)

You are living my life, just with more children in yours. I read your blog and kept nodding my head. Sounds like a typical weekend around here. I'm happy because The Oldest is done with school. I'm sad because the oldest is done with high school. The Youngest has about three weeks left, too. Can't wait until summer vacation. And laundry, don't get me started . . . Have a great week!

My younger one was blind until about two weeks ago. And, well, you know what happened at that point when he could finally see again. :)

Are you going on strike again?

@ Vodka ~ Preschool here always gets out before everyone else.

@ Surprised ~ I'm sure that mine will not be able to care for themselves in time for adulthood. I will be pushing them out of the nest anyway.

@ Melisa ~ Not striking time again yet (although it was considered). Maybe I will just get them a separate apartment to live so that my house will have normalcy.

Are you waiting for the Glorified Rat to, um, pass the stone? Seriously, that would make for some fun video...Poop inspection! Weaselville style :)

Tom said...

Maybe the guinea pig thought the stone was an alfalfa pellet. Weeeet! weeeet! weeeeet!

WeaselMomma said...

@ Captain ~ Ummm no. Eldest volunteered to do that, but don't think the stones value would be nearly as high as a coffee bean of the same vintage.

@ Tom ~ Seriously. Son of guinea pig, I could choke the rat.

I have NEVER looked so forward to a summer break in my life. And, I only have two kids.

Monkey Weasel better watch her back, that over-sized rodent might be out to get her!

I canNOT believe that dadgum pig ate your stone! My husband recently announced that our rabbit was officially no longer cute because it bit his toe. I'm sure the little angel was only nibbling his sock, but you would have thought he needed stitches!

Did the ring resurface? Creepy little creatures :)

You know they eat guinea pigs in Peru and I hear they are quite tasty.

My family has been stricken by the SAME kind of blindness! Funny thing that it turns out the "cure" is crazy ranting from me...

So did you ummmm wait for that little nugget to remove itself from the guinea pig?

And what is it with schools getting out already? The school all my neighbors go to for preschool gets out this week, too! Fortunately, we go until the 12th. Whee. I'm still waiting for spring though.

Hey! I'm colorblind. It's not such a bad thing.

Guinea Pigs - bah humbug. I can send you some good Inca inspired recipes for Guinea Pig.

I'm assuming gutting the guinea pig wouldn't have gone over well with Eldest?

NukeDad said...

Wait, let me get this straight: you send them all off to school in the morning and have at least 6 hours of peace and quiet, and now you can't wait for that to be OVER? You realize what that means, right? NO 6 HOURS OF PEACE AND QUIET! Are you out of your ever lovin' mind?

You make me feel normal and sane again. The things your family manages to overlook are the very things that mine do and it drive's me to the brink some days. I guess we all have to deal with this stuff.

Oh my! The guinea pig ate your stone?!! Really??!! I'm sorry, but I'm laughing out loud!

How did your family get their "blindness" and is there a cure? I think my family may have it too...or at least that is what they tell me.

@ Momo ~ I hear ya sista.

@ Micro ~ Oh, she's on paranoia alert.

@ Gert ~ Darn thing caught me by surprise too.

@ Kat ~ Not the whole ring, he just ate one little stone right off my hand. I haven't gone looking for it.

@ Otter ~ So I've heard. Let me know your first hand review.

@ Jenni ~ around here it is chronic, if not terminal.

@ Michelle ~ I will be so happy when my kids are out.

@ Mocha ~ Lol, until you try to sort laundry!

@ de-I ~ You have to try the recipes 1st. I'm not into sauces or gravies, but love marinades and rubs.

@ Dumbass ~ Yeah, ans besides I paid to much for the thing and all the accessories.

@ NukeDad ~ I am enthusiastically waiting to give up those six hours for 10 weeks of their company without homework and papers and tests et al.

@ Terri ~ It's good to know I'm not alone too.

@ Cheffie ~ That alone is worth it, almost.

@ Training ~ Braindamage, as I stated in an earlier post that you didn't get to see(but could go stalk the archives for).

It ate a birthstone? That's crazy! And here I thought they were gently little creatures :(

Bad Momma said...

Wait a few days & I'll bet you'll find that stone on the bottom of the cage.

My kids are afflicted with selective hearing in addition to the same blindness your clan has!

Fun times!

guinea pigs a fickle fellas.

I actually prefer the school year to summer break. The house is a bit quieter :)

Tell Monkey I got her back and she can come over here if she needs a place to hide out for awhile. Of course if she brought Pooh Bear he'd probably go to campustown and get wasted in the many bars and we'd have to make daily trips downtown to pick him up after he slept it off...

My sister once choked a guinea pig to death. Want me to call her for you?
