Last week my head was in a fog. I went through the motions of life, but can't say that I was really active or engaged in anything that I was attempting to do.
That, my dear readers, is why I felt like an idiot when I finally noticed this on Life of a New Dad. I had no idea how long it had been there. I was touched and embarrassed for not having seen it sooner. After all I had visited Otter's Blog a few times over the course of the week. I left him a comment thanking him for such sweetness and asking if I may have a copy. Soon I received the response that it was sent to him by Surprised Mom.
I contacted Surprised Mom and she informed me that it had been sent to her and made by The Microblogologist and that it had been sent around to numerous people and had been posted on numerous blogs that I frequent. Blogs that I had visited multiple times in the course of those few days. Yeah, I felt like an even bigger doofus for not having noticed it anywhere.
Now it was time to stalk around. I found it at Suburban Scrawl, Nuclear Family Warhead, Half Past Kissing Time and hanging on the wall in Oscar's Tavern.
I am so very touched that so many people took the time to remember our Claire Elaine, a baby girl that none of them have ever met (with the exception of Surprised Mom who indeed even held her).
A few bloggers (Microblogologist, NukeDad and Dear Mr. Man) even wrote special posts dedicated to her over the past 2 weeks in order to commemorate her life. I didn't even mind that NukeDad decided to change her middle name (sorry, I couldn't resist).
I can not tell you how much it means to know that our daughter is remembered by more than just her family. It gives her life meaning and if it causes you to speak a little gentler, find a little more patience or hold your family a little longer and a little closer, it also gives her life legacy.
Thank you all, and a special thanks to Microblogologist for the time and effort you put into doing this.
*If this is anywhere else that I have failed to notice, please let me know and send me the link. If I missed anyone, I apologize*

I haven't seen this. It is so, so sweet.
Hugs to you WeaselMomma!
Claire Weasel is going to hang out at the Scrawl to make sure everyone is having a good time.
Kudos to the Microblogologist and her sister: the badge is gorgeous.
I saw it on one of the blogs the other day and said a little prayer for all of you.
She has definitely had an affect on our family. I am glad that some of us could give you a little something to smile about.
It's a small thing to do to help ease your grief these past couple of weeks. Glad to have been a part of it.
@ Momo ~ I'm sure if you had it would have been at mommo fali too.
@ Melisa ~ It is gorgeous and now I have another person to thank.
@ Jaime ~ Thank You.
@ Otter ~ Hold them, hug them. I think that sweet girl did more good in 2 weeks of life than I will in entire long one.
@ Mrs4444 ~ I can't wait to hug you in person.
We had her for a few days around July 2nd, and will have her up every year from now on. She's the cutest little thing.
I was one of the privileged few. It does my heart good to know I was able to hold that precious baby. Thank you for sharing her with me. She made a huge difference in my life and made me appreciate my children all that more. I am honored to put up that wonderful, beautiful badge honoring Claire Elaine.
Oh how sweet. You have so many caring friends in the blog world.
I saw it at Oscar's Tavern too and wondered about it. You've definitely got some stellar friends here in the blog world!
@ Tom ~ I apologize for having missed it while it was up. My sincere thanks and gratitude go out to you as well. I'm am overwhelmed with all the sweetness.
@ Surprise ~ It pleases me that you were able to be a part of her short life.
@ Bad Momma and Terri ~ I consider both of you on that list of amazing friends I've made while blogging.
There are such beautiful people in the world and I love reminders like this.
Our pleasure. Anything we can do to help a good friend and frequent customer!
Willy get Weaselmomma another Coors Light!
She's had 4.
So, get her another!!
The honor was all mine.
That is gorgeous and so sweet and ummm I never noticed it. Oops. Sorry, I would have had it up immediately had I known it existed (thanks a lot, Melisa!). You've got some great friends there!
That is very sweet. Blog friends are wonderful and amazing.
Very sweet. You have amazing blog friends.
Oops, missed this post! Melisa is correct, the badge was a collaboration, Cheryl drew Angel Weasel and I did the rest (her part was much harder). Then I stealthily sent it to a bunch of people I could find e-mails for to get it plastered all over the blogosphere to surprise you with a show of love and support on such a hard day. While you may not have seen it on the 2nd from reading this post it had the exact effect I was going for. I am extremely pleased and you are very welcome! Also I am very glad I got her middle name right, unlike some bloggers ;) I wish I had seen this post earlier so I could have replied sooner and been able to thank everyone who helped make this a reality!
McMommy had it up too, not sure who else. Wish I'd have had more time to collect more e-mail addresses. I love that Surprised Mom helped send it to people I missed, I was hoping people would forward it around. This really was the least I could do to say thanks to you for sharing your angel with us, she really has touched a lot of lives and the world is a better place because of her.
